Saturday we took a trip to Fredrik Meijer Gardens. Absolutely beautiful place and they even had several areas for children. I took LOTS of pictures and will post a few here. It was a great time. The kids loved the water most of course. It was a hot day so a good day in all to play in water. Saturday evening the ladies went out to dinner. The food was absolutely wonderful!! We closed the place up. It was nice to sit around and talk as adults and not have screaming children in our ears.
On Sunday we took a trip to Lake Michigan. Our kids have NEVER been to the lake EVER in their life. They've only been to the measly thing we call a lake around here. It isn't near as beautiful. I took lots of pictures of that too and will post a few here as well. The kids had a blast playing in the sand. The water was a bit chilly so they were kind of in and out of that, but mostly on the sand. It was quite the trek back up the hill with the sand being hot and the kids being worn out from playing so hard.
After we got back from the lake on Sunday we had a small cook out and then we just relaxed. We were getting ready to head home the next day.
We come home on Monday and we were home by 2 p.m. It was a nice vacation, felt good to get away and I always love visiting with them. We have 3 children around the same age. Katelinn is 3 weeks older than their daughter that was born in July as well and Kaleb is 11 days younger than their first son that was born in September. It's just so much fun watching children so close in age interact. They did REALLY well and no fights broke out.
It feels good to be home.
