On Monday Katelinn and Kaleb had ear check ups. Kaleb had tubes put in in April and Katelinn had hers done in June. This was their 6 month check up. I was fairly certain that it would be great news all the way around. Unfortunately that wasn't the case.
Katelinn's tubes are perfectly in place and everything looks awesome with her ears. Kaleb's ears however, not so much. His tubes had fallen out and he already had negative fluid built up behind his ears. So here we go again, another set of tubes.
We scheduled Kaleb for surgery yesterday morning at 10:20 a.m. However, they moved him up to bright and early at 7 a.m. so we had to be there by 5:45. I thought it was going to be tough trying to keep him from drinking after midnight, but he did an awesome job. He went quite a while without drinking.
Kaleb went back at exactly 7 a.m. and was in recovery by 7:09 a.m. It is definitely a QUICK procedure. I love their ENT doc, he is absolutely awesome with the kids. We were out of the surgery center and on our way home by 7:35 a.m. He did great, woke up perfectly fine and started to drink right away. Definitely a lot easier this time around than it was last time. He goes back in January and hopefully these tubes will last a lot longer since they are to be the "longer lasting" ear tubes. They want him to get to the "magical" age of 5. Generally by 5 ear infections aren't so common anymore. We shall see!
Kaleb is doing awesome today and the girls stayed at their Nana and Papa's Monday night and again last night. They didn't want to come home LOL. It's good that they are spending time with them though, they don't get to do that much.
Paul is now laid off for the Winter months. It is nice having him home.....I get a small break.....hope to get some major cleaning done too.
